Sweep FAQ

Q: What is Sweep?
A. Sweep is a powerful platform that enables companies and charities to hold and promote fundraising sweepstakes events.

Q: Is Sweep a commercial fundraiser?
A: Sweep does not operate as a commercial fundraiser due to the fact that Sweep does not solicit funds on behalf of the nonprofit. Instead, the content of the campaign is controlled by the campaign creator and it is their compelling story which is used to raise funds. Sweep simply gives organizations the tools to host and manage their sweepstakes in a fun, simple way.

Q: Why do I need to register to donate?
A: We require registration so that it is easier for you to use our platform each time you visit. It also helps us keep records up to date so that we can easily and accurately contact our winners! Your profile information is stored securely in our database. You may also auto-register by connecting either your Facebook or Google accounts if you prefer.

Q: Is a donation considered a charitable contribution?
A: Donations qualify as charitable contributions. We recommend to all users who have questions regarding whether their donation is a charitable contribution, that they contact a tax professional who can advise them on their donation as it relates to their specific circumstance.

Q: What happens when I enter by donating?
A. Each donation is represented by a unique entry number generated by Sweep’s random-entry-module. You will receive an email receipt with your entry confirmation and you can view all of your individual entry numbers in your Sweep My Account section. Sweep’s system automatically tracks and organizes each entry and is available for the campaign creator in their Sweep admin dashboard. At the end of each Sweep, the random.org selection module will automatically select the winner(s).

Q: What happens at the end of the Sweep. How will I know if I won?
A: At the end of each Sweep, each participant will receive an email with a link to view the results. By returning to the Sweep’s page and logging in each participant will then be able to view the results.

Q: Is payment secure?
A: Our payment processing partner is Stripe. Stripe’s systems are Level 1 PCI Compliant ensuring the highest level of security and compliance. www.stripe.com.

Q: What is Sweep’s fee structure?
A. To cover our operating costs Sweep takes a standard 20% of net proceeds after payment processing costs.
